Australia’s livestock industry will produce a set of rules on how to cut down carbon emissions.
The industry gathered this week to take control of climate change policy, before politicians do it for them.
Member of Cattle Council’s environmental taskforce, Hamish Munro, says there’s a lot of misleading research about the amount of methane livestock produces.
“We as producers are worried about how we are going to be affected under the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme, and so we want to take the leading role and try and place ourselves as a solution, rather than sitting back and allowing decisions being made for us.”
