The Melbourne Convention + Visitors Bureau (MCVB) has launched a new MCVB Event Carbon Calculator, which will enable event organisers to measure the carbon impact of their Melbourne event.
“The calculator encourages event organisers to assess, reduce and offset their carbon emissions, no matter how big or small their event in Melbourne,” said Sandra Chipchase, CEO of MCVB.
“The online tool is easy to use and covers all aspects of running an event such as venues, food and beverage supply, accommodation, transport and even gifts.”
Developed in conjunction with the Carbon Reduction Institute, the calculator represents the carbon-consciousness of many business events and enables organisers to reduce emissions and provide triple bottom line benefits.
The website also offers advice on reducing the environmental impact of events through planning.
