2 Out of 3 Americans Do Not Support Carbon Trading

Two new nationwide surveys conducted by InsiderAdvantage for American Solutions reveal that 67% of Americans do not support the passage of a cap-and-trade plan to regulate carbon emissions, if it will raise the cost of energy between $800 and $2,500 per household.

This number rises to 68% when the respondent realizes that such a plan will likely result in a loss of 1.3 to 2.3 million American jobs.

Even President Obama agrees that his plan would cause rising energy prices. In a January 2008 conversation with the San Francisco Chronicle, he said, “Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket.”

Simply put, the cap-and-trade plan is nothing more than an energy tax on every American.

We cannot expect the American people already suffering from a bad economy to pay very high government-imposed prices for electricity, gasoline, and their other energy needs.
