Transport for London (TfL) was a multiple award winner at the Low Carbon Performance Awards organised by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).

Quinten Babcock, environmental manager of the sustainable buildings team at TfL, was named Champion of Carbon Saving Champions while the transport body also received the Low Carbon Energy Assessor: Display Energy Certificate of the Year award.

Other winners included Faber Maunsell which collected the New Build Project of the Year award for its work at Lion House in Alnwick. i-prophets energy services won Innovation of the Year and Low Carbon Energy Assessor: Energy Performance Certificate of the Year.

The event celebrated the achievements of participants of the 100 Hours of Carbon Clean Upcampaign, and the work of CIBSE Low Carbon Energy Assessors (LCEAs) and Low Carbon Consultants.

100 Hours Campaign participants Simons Design won the Best Carbon Saving Programme category with the Small and Medium Enterprise award going to BDP Belfast.

Former mayor Ken Livingstone spoke and Dame Ellen MacArthur spoke at the event.

CIBSE President John Swaffield said: “With money saving and therefore energy saving on everyone’s minds – it is the ideal opportunity to recognise and reward those campaigns, projects and innovations that help to reduce the amount of carbon emitted and energy consumed by the built environment.”
