Van drivers looking to purchase a new vehicle that is both environmentally friendly and fuel economic could benefit from researching what Fiat has to offer.

At least that is the view of the manufacturer, which has claimed that its vans are renowned for their eco credentials, value for money, style and versatility.

This comes after a new database set up by the Department for Transport (DfT) aimed at distinguishing between the high and low CO2 emitters on the market found Fiat to be a green achiever.

The Fiat Fiorino and Doblo performed particularly well, appearing as leaders in the field of small and medium vans respectively.

Fiat Professional UK director Gerry Clarke commented: “It’s pleasing to see us so high up the DfT database, which offers an independent confirmation of the claims we have long been making about our vans.”

Meanwhile, Volkswagen recently claimed that van drivers could do no better than choosing from its commercial vehicles, owing to the fact that they are so durable.
