The CarbonNeutral Company, the world-leading carbon offset and carbon management company, today announced the acquisition of The GreenLife Organization LLC, a privately held New York-based provider of carbon management services. With this acquisition, The CarbonNeutral Company expands its global presence, providing carbon management services in a market estimated at more than $66 billion in 2007. The CarbonNeutral Company will have two regional operating headquarters in New York and London, as well as offices in San Francisco and Washington, D.C., and a network of affiliates in Japan, Canada, France and UAE. An additional office will soon open in Asia.

Braun brings vast and diverse corporation management experience as president of NBC Television Network; chairman and CEO of Viacom Entertainment; and as a member of the board and audit committee of the IMAX Corporation (NASDAQ: IMAX). This may make CarbonNeutral more of a force on this side of the Atlantic. I had heard that this was a merger rather than an acquistion, although I am not certain that makes any difference.
