Monday that this year’s event will be focused on cutting its carbon footprint in half.
“Public events need a lot of power and generate a lot of consumer waste material, both of which leave a big carbon footprint. But in 2010, we are putting the Taste on a strict low-carbon diet with EGS,” said Taste organizer Mike Kociela. “Last year, the Taste generated 26 tons of non-compostable waste over the three-day event.
Organizers plan to reduce event marketing and signage, make event transportation and power generation “greener”, and reduce waste.

Taste of St. Louis will feature celebrity chefs, 45 of St. Louis’ best restaurants, a Master Chef Competition, a Megamind Kids’ Kitchen, concerts and much more.
Taste of St. Louis is October 1,2 and 3 at Soldier’s Memorial. Admission is free.
