Carbon offset program marks first year

A consortium of Georgia electric membership corporations Friday marked the first anniversary of a voluntary carbon offset program with a celebration near Columbus, Ga.

Power4Georgians reported that preserving privately owned woodland properties resulted in sequestering 7,816 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalents during the Keeping Forests in Forest Programs first year.
