The UK’s greenhouse gas emissions appear to have dropped significantly over the last 12 months, according to new information published today. Provisional 2009 estimates of UK greenhouse gas emissions, together with final estimates of 2008 UK greenhouse gas emissions by fuel type and end-user, have been released by the Department for Energy and Climate Change. Especially noticeable is a fall of almost 5 per cent from the residential sector. In 2007, the last year for which figures were previously available, domestic CO2 emissions rose by around 3 per cent.
