Students could bear brunt of higher bills under carbon tax


VICTORIAN schools face paying millions more dollars for their power under a proposed carbon tax that would eat into budgets and force cut-backs.

Secret State Government figures show Victorian public, independent and Catholic schools on average spent $27,000 each on electricity in 2010 – about $60 million statewide.
