NEW YORK, NY – January 13 – Climate justice activists, some of whom were at the Copenhagen climate summit, will converge to protest the 2nd Annual Carbon Trading Summit, the largest annual meeting place of corporations, banks, and lobby groups to support a carbon trading scheme. Activists will rally to oppose market-based trading of greenhouse gas emissions credits and call for real solutions to the climate crisis. Some activists will be engaging in nonviolent direct action during which they may risk arrest to express their resistance to carbon trading.
