View: UK government launches corporate carbon reduction scheme

The UK government is bringing into effect a new Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRCEES), a mandatory programme which will force around 5000 companies to monitor and report their energy usage and related carbon emissions. The scheme aims to cut annually British greenhouse gas emissions by 4Mt and corporate energy bills by GBP1bn by 2020.
