LONDON -(Dow Jones)- Hundreds of small U.K. companies could be unfairly hit by the government’s carbon emissions rules, private equity chiefs are warning, the Mail on Sunday reports.
Companies with high energy usage will have to join the carbon emissions trading scheme, forcing them to buy permits for any rise in use above the capped levels.
However, private equity chiefs warn that hundreds of small companies owned by funds could find themselves dragged into the scheme and burdened with bureaucracy, the Mail on Sunday says.
