CPI commits to cutting carbon by 15%

CPI Group has committed to reducing its CO2 emissions by 15% by June 2012 as part of a company-wide project to “adopt responsible environmental practices”.

‘Project Low Carb’ will also see the vendor bring carbon neutral paper solutions to the market through its CPI Paper and Raleigh Paper divisions.

The Carbon Reduction Institute (CRI) has been appointed to audit the direct greenhouse gas emissions of the CPI Group, which includes CPI Paper, CPI Inks, CPI Graphics, Raleigh Paper, ED Office Products and Boomerang Paper. This audit forms the basis of a commitment to reduce CO2 emissions by no less than 15% by June 2012.

“The CPI Group recognises the importance of good environmental practice and the impact that its operations may have on the environment,” the company said.

“The aim of Project Low Carb and the Group’s Environmental Policy is to operate within and to adopt responsible environmental practices.”
