Bournville home slashes carbon footprint

A Bournville couple have transformed their house into one of the greenest eco-homes in the country. Chris and Harriet Martin are throwing open the doors to their semi-detached home in Hawthorne Road from Friday to Sunday as part of the Old Home SuperHome networks Spring Opening. Their property is part of a growing network of homes that have undergone a transformation to become a SuperHome and visitors to the Martins house will be able to learn first hand how they have reduced their homes energy usage by 75 per cent.

Tata boosts UKs low carbon auto R&D

The low carbon automotive sector in the UK received a major boost today as Tata Motors European Technical Centre (TMETC), a wholly-owned UK-based subsidiary of Tata Motors, announced that it will be expanding its partnership with WMG at the University of Warwick. The technical centre, owned by the Indian firm, plans to increase its team of highly skilled engineers working on the campus by 40 per cent over the next two years.
