EU carbon edges up in muted trade

(Reuters) – European carbon emissions futures inched up in early trade on Friday amid muted trading activity, largely ignoring gains in energy prices, traders said.

EU Allowances for December delivery were up 4 cents or 0.26 percent at 15.45 euros ($21.10) a tonne at 0726 GMT, with light volume of 347 lots traded.

EU carbon prices inch up towards 15 eur/t

(Reuters) – European carbon emissions futures edged up on Friday, trying to regain some ground from the previous session’s losses, traders said.

EU Allowances for December delivery were up 3 cents or 0.2 percent at 14.92 euros ($19.91) a tonne, with light volume of 675 lots traded.

Certified emissions reductions were slow to trade.

EU carbon rises on back of UK natgas gains

(Reuters) – European carbon emissions futures rose 1 percent on Wednesday after a slow start to trading, as British natural gas prices surged.

EU Allowances for December delivery rose 14 cents or 0.94 percent to 15.05 euros ($20) a tonne at 1321 GMT, with volume at 3,264 lots traded.

EUAs were largely flat in earlier trade but started to rise as volume built up and UK gas prices climbed.

EU carbon little changed, seeks direction

(Reuters) – European carbon emissions futures hovered around 15.30 euros ($19.34) a tonne on Wednesday, recovering from early losses, but trading sideways as they sought direction.

EU Allowances for December delivery inched up by 4 cent or 0.26 percent to 15.31 euros a tonne at 1343 GMT, with volume at 2,222 lots traded.

(Reuters) – The Dutch environment ministry will auction 4 million European Union carbon permits in two auctions on October 14 and November 18, the auction host, Amsterdam-based emissions exchange Climex, said on Wednesday.
