Mexico, USA and Brazil put ‘green’

DAVIS, EU (Reuters) – California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Tuesday signed agreements with two regions of Mexico and Brazil to include pilot projects to protect tropical forests in the carbon market in the U.S. state, an official said of the US- .
“Our announcement is an agreement between the three governors, Schwarzenegger, the governor of Acre and the Chiapas- to really bring these states, projects of these states, to the carbon market and to hopefully provide a way for others follow, “said Secretary of the Agency for Environmental Protection in California, Linda Adams.

EPA grants California CO2 emissions waiver

After a five-year legal battle, the Environmental Protection Agency yesterday granted California permission to set the nations first greenhouse-gas emissions standards for cars. This paves the way for as many as 15 other states that have endorsed Californias proposal to follow suit.

Utility Instructed To Fund Participation in Carbon Capture Venture

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) today told Southern California Edison Company (SCE) that it would have to fund its own participation in a pilot project to create hydrogen and sequester carbon emissions from petroleum coke–an oil refinery by-producet.
